At $10,000, the Samsung UA55C9000 costs more than twice what an otherwise similarly specified, similarly sized, Samsung TV would sell for. So what’s so special about it? We reckon that several of the more extraordinary features justify that price.
HP have announced a new generation all-in-one touchscreen PC that changes the way people interact with their computers. The HP TouchSmart IQ500 Series PC is designed specifically for the interactive experience of touch. Resembling an LCD TV, the stylish and sleek HP TouchSmart IQ500 PC is a fully functional PC that makes entertainment a truly engaging, hands-on experience.
Featuring two-touch intuitive gesture technology the new HP TouchSmart PC offers a fun and easy to navigate user interface in a stylish form factor. A finger tapped or swept across the high-resolution screen delivers quick access to information, entertainment and 'post-it' notes. Without a keyboard or mouse, consumers can play music, create playlists, zoom in or out of photos and quickly check the weather or watch TV (tuner available for the IQ508 model only). All of this is made possible by HP software designed specifically for touch.
With its smooth lines and small footprint, the new HP TouchSmart IQ500 fits wherever life happens. Whether in the living room to entertain friends, or in the kitchen as a social hub, its simple yet modern design adds style and elegance to any room or social setting.
Requiring only one power cord to set up, the HP TouchSmart PC IQ500 combines a 22-inch diagonal high-definition widescreen display with a powerful, energy-efficient Intel Core 2 Duo processor in a single, integrated design. The sleek, piano-black finish and slim build makes the TouchSmart PC a stylish addition to any room in the home.
When users want to work on long documents, the handy wireless keyboard and integrated WLAN offer a truly wireless experience, and the adjustable screen tilts up and down for maximum comfort. The HP Ambient Light lets consumers set a mood and see the keyboard in the dark.
With a strong focus on digital entertainment, consumers can watch and record TV (tuner available for the IQ508 model only), burn personal videos with the built-in DVD burner, upload videos to YouTube, enjoy high-quality sound with the integrated premium stereo speakers and keep in touch through the built-in webcam and microphone. Other features include 4 gigabytes of memory, a media card reader and a large-capacity high-speed hard drive.
In addition, the HP TouchSmart IQ500 is ENERGY STAR qualified and comes in new packaging that greatly reduces plastic foam cushioning materials.
There are two models available in the IQ500 Series:
