Panasonic is pleased to announce that the new digital interchangeable lens camera - the LUMIX DMC-G1 - has won the prestigious "Photokina Star" at Photokina 2008, in Cologne, Germany.
The "Photokina Star" is appointed by photo specialist magazines Photo Presse and digit, and is awarded to products or services that are determined to be the absolute highlights of the exhibition.
"With the G1, Panasonic launches the first system camera based on the new Micro Four Thirds standard. The elimination of the mirror box enables an ultra-compact construction of the camera and lenses. The G1 features 12 megapixel resolution and will be available in black, red and blue," said Alistair Robins, Category Manager, Mobile AV, Panasonic Australia.
"This ground-breaking new camera is highly anticipated. The small form factor and innovative design allows for high image quality and outstanding creativity with ease of use and guidance for the novice; while giving the experienced user all the tools to express themselves fully."
