Sony's DCRDVD703 falls smack bang into the middle of the price range for DVD-based camcorders and is one of the easiest to use, gaining a 10/10 rating in this area.
Unlike its Hitachi competitors, the Sony can record to DVD -R and +R which is a distinct advantage.
Under normal lighting, the image quality of the DCRDVD703 is good, but starts to suffer under lower light conditions with lack of contrast and graininess becoming evident.
Mic sensitivity is a bit of a problem when slow zooming, as the top button is located very near to the mic itself although a secondary button is available.
