While the 3G iPhone has been secured by three different Australian carriers, there's still a lot of uncertainty about how much plans will cost and what's included in them.
While GadgetGuy.com.au was the first to bring you details on Telstra's iPhone pricing and plans - you can access the full story here - what are the other networks up to?
Our source within Optus revealed that it will offer a $100 per month pre paid cap plan that includes you $800 worth of calls, $100 worth of Optus 'My Time' calls, and, wait for it, a hefty 1GB of data transfers. Data costs are a huge part of the overall cost of using an iPhone so this component can have a big impact on your overall bill. It's good to see that Optus is being reasonable here. On the downside, it appears that Optus iPhones will be locked to the network, and it will cost you around $60 to $80 to unlock it.
As for the cost of buying an iPhone, while an outright price is still unknown, our source suggested that Optus will sell it for $239 on a 12 month contract.
