Panasonic, a leader in rugged computing solutions, has today announced a new addition to its robust and reliable Toughbook range. Designed for the mobile professional, the Toughbook CF-W7 is a powerful, ultra-light and portable business PC notebook with long-lasting battery performance and rugged features to meet the needs of today's mobile business professional.
John Wood, Group Manager, Toughbook, Panasonic Australia, said: "As business travellers and mobile executives are becoming increasingly reliant on their notebooks, the demand for durable and reliable technology is growing. The business rugged Toughbook W7 offers professionals an ultra-portable, lightweight notebook solution with the advantages of robust, rugged design to withstand inevitable everyday drops, shocks and spills."
The new CF-W7 is manufactured and rigorously tested in Japan for maximum reliability. The Toughbook is built to withstand a drop test of 76cm, the typical height of a desk or table, features a spill resistant keyboard, and has also undergone a pressurised vibration test of up to 100 kilograms of force (kgf), so it can easily handle everyday knocks and bumps that can occur in the hectic on-the-road business environment. It also offers wireless options for anytime, anywhere connectivity.
Engineered with the real-world challenges of mobile computing in mind, the Intel Core 2 Duo-based Toughbook W7 offers the ideal combination of computing power, embedded wireless capability, light weight (only 1.4 kg) and long battery life of approximately 7.5 hours - all protected by Toughbook's proven durability.
Built with a full magnesium alloy case and a shock mounted Hard Disk Drive, the Toughbook is equipped with 1GB SDRAM and a 120GB SATA hard disk. In addition it has an integrated DVD MULTI drive and a large 12.1 inch anti-glare LCD screen.
Wood continued "With 15 years' experience in the ruggedised notebook market Panasonic continues to engineer and manufacture robust notebook computers that deliver the durability, speed and connectivity that is essential for mobile users. Panasonic is addressing a growing need for computer solutions that are up to the challenges of mobility. The new generation W7 is ideal for those that require the features found in larger notebooks at a decreased size and weight."
The Panasonic Toughbook W7 is $3,599 RRP. It is available from selected Toughbook distributors.
