Win 1 of 4 Sony USB turntables - convert all your vinyl to MP3

 A fully functioning turntable, the Sony LSLX300 is also equipped with a USB port for transferring your slowly disintegrating pressed vinyl into theoretically indestructible MP3.

Just plug it into a PC, use the included Sound Forge Audio Studio software to name tracks and albums, clean up crackly or popping audio, and up the sample rate. Once done, archive your collection safely or take it to the streets in your portable player of choice.

Thanks to Sony Australia, we have four of the PS-LX300USB turntables up for grabs, valued at $299.

How to enter

The competition is open to all permanent residents of Australia, but to be eligible to win the prize please note you MUST be an active subscriber to the weekly GagdetGuy Grapevine newsletter at the time of the prize judging. So if you're not a subscriber already, be sure to enter your details in the second box on the entry page, entitled 'Not a member, join now'.

You will also need a password to enter, along with your email address - if you have not yet allocated yourself a password, or if you have forgotten your password, click here (again, this link will open in a new window), and follow the on-screen prompts. If you have any questions or difficulties, please write to gadgetgrapevine@gadgetgroup.com.au, and tell us about what's going wrong.

Once you've logged in, then all you need do is answer the question "Tell us in 25 words or less which vinyl album or single you'd like to convert to MP3 using the Sony USB turntable, and why."

Terms & Conditions of Entry

1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms and conditions of entry. To enter the Sony USB turntable competition visit www.gadgetguy.com.au,, click on the Win 1 of 4 Sony USB turntables graphic, and answer the 25 words or less question. Eligible participants are required to provide their gadgetguy.com.au membership email and password to complete their entry. 2. You can enter as many times as you want, even under the one email address. 3. Entry is open to all permanent residents of Australia, but to be eligible to win the prize the email address you submit with your entry must be actively subscribed to the weekly GadgetGuy Grapevine newsletter at the time of the prize judging. 4. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence shall be entered into. Prizes cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash. 5. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining winners. 6. Judging for the competition will take place on 16 April, 2009 at Gadget Group, 120 Cathedral St, Woolloomooloo NSW 2011. 7. The promoter will not be held responsible for any late, lost or misdirected mail. 8. No employees, relatives or associates of Sony or Gadget Group Pty Ltd can enter the competition. 9. The winners shall be notified by email, and upon confirmation of the winners' contact details the names will be published in the weekly GadgetGuy.com.au newsletter. 10. Prize value is the recommended retail value as provided by the supplier and is correct at the time of printing. All prize values are in Australian dollars. 11. The promoter shall not be responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever that is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law. 12. The competition commences 9 January, 2009 and concludes on 9 April, 2009. All entries become the property of the promoter. 13. Prize winners once notified by email of their win have 1 month from the despatch of our email to supply us their contact details. If no reply is received then the prize will be re-drawn on 9 May, 2009, at 12 pm at the offices of Gadget Group, 120 Cathedral Street, Woolloomooloo NSW 2011. 14. The prize pool consists of 4 Sony PS-LX300USB USB turntables, valued at $299 each, one each for 4 prizewinners. Total value of the prizes is $1196.00 RRP. 15.
