Dick Smith tries to appease angry customers

Remember the Dick Smith game sale that brought anger to DSE’s Facebook page? Well, the company is trying to gain some consumer confidence back, with a small sale on games and accessories.

Running until April 15, Dick Smith is giving customers 30% off games and accessories not being advertised in this week’s “Game On” sales catalogue, a brochure that extends the sale that initially started this thing.

Interestingly, Dick Smith is now saying that the price list we all caught wind of was, in fact, an “authorised leaking”, despite the sale being officially announced by the company several hours after the supposed leak.

In any case, here’s what Dick Smith has to say on the matter:

Due to the unauthorised leaking of an internal price list last week, our Game On Sale has exceeded expectations. As our Game On Sale continues this week, we would like to inform our customers that stock is selling faster than expected. We thank you for your patience and continued support and apologise for any inconvenience caused. As a gesture of goodwill in addition to the Game on Sale event we will now be offering extend the offer to include 30% off gaming software and accessories until Sunday 15 April. Please note that this excludes all gaming consoles, digital cards & already advertised catalogue lines in our Game On brochure (11/4 – 23/4/12).

So that’s 30% off games and accessories, but sadly no consoles. Well, that’s something, I guess.
