Logitech reveals a pair of minimalist cord-free speakers

Wires are so yesterday, and to show that, Logitech is readying a pair of speakers for computers that would prefer to go without them, while still being about to scream their sound for the world to hear.

Aimed at the Ultrabook or Mac computer owner – or anyone else out there that is over wired speakers – the Logitech Z600 is a pair of Bluetooth speakers designed to look different from your regular desktop speaker, and is able to not just take your computer as a source, but also from other devices, such as a smartphone or tablet.

The speakers can switch between three sources, able to stay connected with all of the products, but playing back the audio one at a time, stopping the playback on the device when needed.

“The Logitech Bluetooth Speakers Z600 were designed to resemble an object of art using shapes, materials, and colours that meld with the modern living space and complement the look of ultrathin laptops,” said Charlotte Johs, Logitech’s Global Vice President of Brand Development and the Portfolio for PC Accessories.

Logitech is also including a USB Bluetooth dongle in the box, because not every computer may have the same high quality wireless chip to work with. For everyone without Bluetooth, you can always use a wired cable, as a 3.5mm jack is included on the speakers.

Pricing for the speakers is set to $199.95, with availability in the next couple of weeks across Australia.
