Olympus Tough 850SW digital camera - waterproof, shockproof, snowproof
A digital camera is always a solid choice for a gift, and an Olympus Tough camera is even good if he already has a camera.
The Tough range is designed to be mistreated - they're waterproof, shock proof and snow-proof. They have good anti-shake and night modes as well. This means that he can take the Tough camera to places that he fears might destroy his regular camera.
The Tough range varies in price and sensor quality. At the lower end is the 790SW, with its 7.1 megapixel imaging chip, and the range extends right up to the 10.1 megapixel 1030SW. Our pick, however, is the $399 850SW, which has an 8 megapixel sensor.
