Optus adds Adelaide to the 4G list

South Australians in the state’s capital can now jump for joy a little faster with the opening of an uber-fast present, delivered by Optus in time for the new year.

Optus subscribers in Adelaide’s CBD now join the growing list of Australian cities with access to the 4G on Optus, joining Telstra in serving the high-speed Long Term Evolution technology to the region.

“The response from customers in other capital cities has been so positive we’ve accelerated the rollout of 4G to Adelaide, several months ahead of schedule,” said Günther Ottendorfer, Managing Director of Optus Networks.

“Adelaide customers can now experience the superfast Optus 4G network when sharing photos and videos with their friends and family, posting updates to social media or finishing off the Christmas to-do list with a little last minute online shopping.”

Optus has also made plans to enhance the 3G network in Adelaide in the new year, with not only faster 3G speeds, but also provide “better indoor reception.”
