Planning on buying an iPhone? Wait.

If you’ve been thinking of buying an iPhone, we’re suggesting you might want to wait just a week or two as it looks like Apple’s next model is on its way.

A hint that pretty much the next version is here – aside for all those leaks – is right there on Apple’s Australian store.

Remember the iPhone 3G, the first model to arrive in Australia? Well it’s “currently unavailable” in Australia, with the iPhone 3GS all that’s left. More than unavailable, the “select” button has been removed fuelling rumours that the iPhone 3G is literally no more.

You may remember that upon release of the iPhone 3GS, Apple pushed the 3G down and made it the less-expensive model for people who still wanted an iPhone but didn’t want the premium price.

With the removal of this lower iPhone, it’s expected that the 3GS will take the place of the 3G and become the budget iPhone.

But don’t go assuming that today as the iPhone 3GS is still at the “A$ 1,115.28.” price tag. Wait until the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference on June 7 (June 8 in Australia) to see if the next iPhone pushes the current one into the “cheap” slot.
