The hottest new home entertainment technology to appear since the introduction of Blu-ray has got to be 3D. Most of the major brands have their own systems on the verge of launch, but Samsung was the first to make it into Australian retail electronics stores.
If you have the big TV but feel a little let down that the big picture is let down by small sound, the Q Acoustics Q-TV2 speaker system might be something you want to look at. Or listen to. Or touch. I'm not one to tell you what to do with your senses.
Sitting within a frame which bolts on to the back of your TV, are 2 Balanced Mode Radiator speakers, a subwoofer, and a 100 watt amplifier. Strap on 2.1 sound!
The frame is hidden by the TV, and the wires are wrangled within the frame, you just adjust the width to have the speakers look as is they're part of the TV itself. If you want your panel and Q-TV2 wall mounted, there is an optional wall bracket, and an optional cantilevered arm that will let you pull the whole shebang slightly away from the wall and angle everything for your viewing pleasure.

If you connect the Q-TV2 via the TVs headphone socket you're able to control the volume with your TV remote control, or you can hook the system up by the TV's analog and digital connections and use the Q-TV2's remote. Also part of the unit is an auxiliary input, so you can plug in a portable digital music player - iPods and the like.

The Q-TV2 is priced at $849, and will suit plasma and LCD TVs ranging from 30 to 42 inches. There is also a smaller model to suite 18 to 30 inch screens, and a model is in the works for larger TVs, up to 55 inch - prices on these two sizes are yet to be announced.
