The Sony PSLX300USB USB Output Turntable isn't a high-end turntable, it's designed to be a quick and simple solution for the person who wants to get their ageing vinyl collection into a portable media player.
The recently introduced Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin iPod dock has won the EISA European Sound Stage 2008 Award. This is a new category in the EISA Awards and Zeppelin was the clear winner.
The official quote from EISA sums up this new generation iPod speaker dock: "Glamorously shaped and fabulously well thought-out, the B&W Zeppelin benefits from the technical heritage of one of the most renowned loudspeaker brands in the world. Born to be the bridge between traditional high-end audio and the newest generations of music lovers, the Zeppelin extends the appeal and capabilities of the ubiquitous iPod range. Beneath the sculptured enclosures are five transducers designed by Bowers & Wilkins (two tweeters, two mid/bass units and one subwoofer) driven by 100W of efficient Class D amplification and with custom DSP to help optimise its bass performance in the normal living room. So the Zeppelin not only looks charismatic but also sounds deeply impressive."
Consisting of members from 49 magazines in 19 countries, EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association) is a body of editors and journalists from some of the most influential European technology magazines. Set up to decide which products truly were the best within each technology category, an EISA award has gone on to be one of the most sought after accolades a product could receive.
The Zeppelin in available from selected Bowers & Wilkins dealers for the recommended retail price of $999.
