At $10,000, the Samsung UA55C9000 costs more than twice what an otherwise similarly specified, similarly sized, Samsung TV would sell for. So what’s so special about it? We reckon that several of the more extraordinary features justify that price.
The GadgetGuy team tries out the iPad's gaming capabilities with Electronic Art's Need For Speed Shift.
One of the big benefits of the iPad is that it runs most of the existing iPhone and iPod Touch applications, including games such as Electronic Art's Need For Speed Shift.
Released at the beginning of the year, Need For Speed Shift runs on the iPad without modifications. The iPad has a higher-resolution screen, however, so it needs to upscale the game's graphics to fill the 9.7 inch screen. You also have the option of playing the game in its original size, which will appear in a small rectangle at the centre of the display.
While there have been reports that some iPhone games do not look great on the iPad - and become quite pi xelated by the upscaling process, Need For Speed Shift looked pretty good, and ran smoothly.
