At $10,000, the Samsung UA55C9000 costs more than twice what an otherwise similarly specified, similarly sized, Samsung TV would sell for. So what’s so special about it? We reckon that several of the more extraordinary features justify that price.
To mark the Qantas Socceroos' second consecutive entry into the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa, Sony Australia has announced the arrival of the second generation Motionflow 200Hz BRAVIA LCD TV - the Z5500 series - in Australian stores today, 1 July 2009.
Motionflow 200Hz technology gives LCD TVs the smoothest picture possible - so when you're watching our Socceroos zoom around the pitch scoring match-winning goals, it's almost as good as being there.
The ultra-thin and stylish Z5500 is available in three screen sizes - 52", 46" and 40" - the ultimate living room set-up for sitting back and watching your favourite sport.
This brand new release from Sony is the second generation of Australia's number one selling LCD television, the Z4500 series, and features Motionflow 200Hz technology that delivers the world's fastest frame rate on an LCD TV.
The Z5500 improves on the first generation of Motionflow 200Hz technology by creating even smoother motion not only horizontally, but also for vertical panning shots.
Not only does the BRAVIA Z series have unparalled fast action image quality, but it also includes features that help reduce power consumption. The Ambient Light Sensor automatically adjusts the brightness of the picture depending on how the room is lit. If you are using the BRAVIA Z series to connect to a PC, the TV automatically switches into standby mode if the input signal is undetected after 30 seconds.
The Z5500 also has a conveniently located Energy Saving Switch that lets you shut off the TV's power at the front of the panel, without having to unplug the AC cord from the mains. This cuts standby mode power consumption to less than 0.0001W.
