The most immediately arresting thing about the Zeppelin Mini is how eye-catching it is. It's tough not to look at the Zeppelin Mini and not just stare at it.
If you're going to start something new, there's nothing like going in strong and shooting for the top. Viewsonic, making its debut into the world of high-end home theatre, brings us the Pro8100 full HD home theatre projector.
Aimed at the custom install and specialist retailer market, the 1080p full HD Pro8100 uses an in-house developed colour-tuning chip attending to such correction matters as contrast, image edge enhancement, gamma and 3D colour management for the best possible picture - or 'ultimate' picture, as ViewSonic likes to put it. That's fighting talk right there.
Putting out the 1080p image at a contrast ratio of 13,000:1 at 1000 lumens, the new $4,499 projector also hosts two HDMI 1.3 inputs and ships with a three-year warranty, plus a separate 1000-hour, or one year, warranty on the lamp itself.
It'll be interesting to see how the Pro8100 fares at this price point, given the recent influx of even more cheaply positioned offerings from its better-known competitors.
