The Alcatel Movetime Family Watch (website here) is a fun, colourful 3G, IP67 rated kids watch.
It has location features, providing indoor and outdoor positioning, two-way calling, and geofencing. The SOS button on the watch calls for help and in an emergency gives an accurate location. Geofencing can send alerts when the device exits a pre-set safe zone.
Helicopter parents can view their child’s whereabouts throughout the day via the dedicated app and contact the device.

Many schools now ban smartphone use in the schoolyard. This is an excellent first watch/phone, and kids may appreciate the Dick Tracy watch phone.
