3SIXT: Get that action cam to where the action is

100% human

When I was checking out the 3SIXT Ultra HD WiFi Sports Action Camera a few months ago, I was impressed by several things. One was the astonishingly low price … just $179.95. Another was the wide range of fittings and attachments that came with it, including a waterproof housing, bike handlebar mounts, helmet straps and so on. Because an action camera is kind of limited in the action it can record if you’ve got to hold the thing in your hands.

Now 3SIXT has released an “Action Camera Accessories Pack”, which adds a large range of mounting options for the 3SIXT range of action cameras. And it’s compatible with the GoPro range as well.

3SIXT accessory pack

Priced at $49.95 and available from BCF, the bits and pieces come in a new zip-up carry case, and cover just about every eventuality, from allowing you mount the camera on a regular tripod, through something to extend your reach, to a float to make sure the camera – within its underwater case – doesn’t sink to unrecoverable depths should it slip from your grasp. The float is even bright orange, making it easy to find should it float away.

The selfie stick has seven telescopic sections and extends to a metre in length. The mini tripod has a universal ball joint to allow all kinds of orientations. “The Arm” is a 19cm long curved piece of sturdy plastic with universal mounting flanges at both ends. Combine that with the other mounts and that gives you a lot of camera placement flexibility.

Here’s a full list of all the bits:

  • Head strap
  • Mini tripod
  • Helmet strap
  • 2 x bridge adapters
  • Chest harness & mount
  • Tripod mount and screw
  • Vertical Surface J-Hook Buckle
