The Xscreen series of screens from Planar provide amazing images even in daylight, making it possible to enjoy true home theatre regardless of lighting conditions,, according to the brandds Melbourne-based importer, International Dyanmics. Surrounded by high-gloss white or black frames, Xscreens have been designed to appear like a giant plasma, allowing them to be installed permanently in a living room without looking out of place. And with the baseline 60 inch model priced from $2,899, the total cost after factoring in a high-quality projector (around $5,000) compares well to a similar-sized plasma  panel (around $12,000).

Planar also offers 70, 80 and 100 inch Xscreen models for $3,600, $4,200 and $5,700 respectively, and is developing an integrated screen system that will provide PIP facilities, built-in speakers, and facilities for connecting digital sources.
