Amaysim encourages its users to have oodles of talk and text

For some people, phones are still the gadget that let you talk to others and message them, with internet usage and social activity secondary to these main functions. If that’s you, an updated plan from Amaysim may be ideal.

Just as Optus changes one of its plans, Amaysim is giving the old update job to a plan of its own, as the cut price mobile telco aims to grab the attention of customers not keen on spending too big and yet getting what many would consider solid value.

As such, the company has upgraded its budget-not-quite-$30 plan, with a raising of 500 minutes of national talk and unlimited text to unlimited on both of those, while packing in 2GB data for the cost of $29.90 per month.

“Instead of counting minutes and texts, these days Aussies are choosing their mobile plan based on data inclusions to meet their needs and budget,” said CEO of Amaysim, Julian Ogrin.

“Some people don’t want to spend $40 or $50 a month but still need a bit of data. With that in mind, the range of unlimited plans has been refined to cater to light, medium and heavy data users – and wallets – while taking the hassle of talk and text off he table.”

The plan change will go into action for all Amaysim customers already on the Unlimited Text 2GB plan, which means they can now make unlimited standard calls, too.

Meanwhile, the plans will also be updated for Amaysim’s other offerings, seeing the 5GB and 7GB variants for $44.90 and $54.90 respectively also receive unlimited talk with the unlimited text the already had.

“The move to a simpler suite of mobile plans is yet another example of how we’re making it easier for Aussies to compare and change mobile plans month-to-month as their smartphone habits or budgets change,” said Ogrin.

“Our aim is to make switching, saving and managing mobile accounts as simple as a few swipes of a smartphone.”
