Amazon has just launched 10 of its latest smart security cameras in Australia, including the debut 4K Ring range announced last month. It comes as Amazon-commissioned research found that 57 per cent of Australians worry about their home while away on holiday.

The company’s latest cameras span the budget-friendly Blink security cameras, which start at $59 for a 2K resolution model. Meanwhile, the Ring range starts at $99, including indoor, outdoor, wired, and wireless variants. $329 is the entry point for Ring’s 4K cameras, specifically the Outdoor Camera Pro.

When Amazon originally announced the Ring 4K camera range, it spruiked a technology called “Retinal Vision”. According to the company, it uses AI to enhance footage clarity, which is then intended to improve the quality of other smart features. One feature in the works aims to locate lost neighbourhood pets.

Amazon’s new range of Ring and Blink security cameras is out now in Australia at retailers and directly from Amazon.
