Through industry standards like FreeSync, AMD provides the PC ecosystem with technologies that significantly enhance gamers’ experiences, at no cost to AIB partners.
In turn, AIB’s must provide these free to consumers, rather than penalising gamers with proprietary technology “taxes” and limiting their choice in displays.

First, let us assure you that we published this because we felt it was a good move. A public pledge from a significant company that is considered both a disruptor and the underdog.
Next, we are heartily sick of companies purporting to adhere to standards. Lip service when all these do is lock you into their ecosystem. This pledge should go across all makes and models of GPU makers.
And finally, it is an acknowledgement that open standards are best for all. Sharing AIB and user experiences is the best way to advance a product.
It is not a PR stunt or lip service. We must all hold AMD accountable for its great words.
