When you think of cheap laptops, you’re normally thinking of netbooks. But at $599, Lenovo’s ThinkPad Edge 13 is a steal.
News came in today that the Australia and New Zealand arm of Lenovo was parting with some 13 inch laptops at half of their normal $1300 price. The Edge 13s offer a 320GB hard drive, 2GB memory, Windows 7 Home Premium, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
There’s no DVD or Blu-ray drive, but for the price, it’s a lot more laptop than a similarly priced 10 inch will offer.
Earlier in the day, we had reported that Lenovo was offering the laptop for a price of $349, but we’re now told by Lenovo that the correct price is actually $599. Lenovo has taken the page down for the moment, but buyers looking to save on a 13 inch lappy should be able to find it on Lenovo.com.au’s online store later in the day.
