Beko packs in the food with 500 litre fridges

People with lots of food might just be really into their food, but its more than likely that they have a big family, and if you need to fill that thing up, there’s a chance that your current fridge isn’t cutting it. But if you need space, you have to think big.

Thinking big is what Turkish brand Beko is apparently doing, with 500 litre refrigerators coming to market that will feature – depending on the configuration you’re after – a fridge at either the top or the bottom of the unit.

The fridges will include two cooling systems that separate the airflow between the fridge and freezer, apparently keeping the humidity in each section, which should be better for fruit and veggies. Also assisting in this area a blue light technology which aides photosynthesis to keep these items happy.

“We are very pleased to be introducing this refrigeration range into the Australian market,” said Paul Reeves, General Manager for Sales and Marketing at Beko Australia.

“Not only do these products have great features that reduce the amount of food you throw away, they also include one the best energy ratings in their class: the top mount fridges feature 3 star energy ratings while the bottom mount fridges have a 2.5 star energy rating, helping to combat those nasty rising electricity bills.”

While there have been reports overseas about a safety alert being issued over Beko’s refrigerators, among other appliances it manufacturers, a representative for the company told GadgetGuy this week that “all products on sale in Australia are safety compliant and meet all of the required Australian standards for sale.”

Beko’s 500 litre models are available in retailers now and start at $999 for a 510L top-mount freezer fridge, while the 505L bottom-mount freezer models start at $1249.
