B&O brings the Nordic Sky to a special edition speaker

Do you miss the Scandinavian sky and feel like it should be replicated in your home? B&O hear you, with a special edition of a speaker designed to do just that.

The latest model of Bang & Olufsen’s BeoPlay A9 speaker is all about celebrating the look of the sky back home where B&O’s main offices are, with three colour variants designed to simulate the look of the sky across the A9’s massive circular panel.

“We’ve captured and recreated the essence of Scandinavian summer and made it part of our product concept,” said Marie Kristine Schmidt, Head of Bang & Olufsen’s Creative Centre.

“We cherish and celebrate light up here in the north – and Nordic Sky is just that, a celebration. The way that a song can invoke memories so can the feeling of a summer night spent outside with those close to you.”

The three versions include dawn with a green gradient, dusk with a red gradient, and twilight with a blue gradient.

Outside of the paint job, the BeoPlay A9 also features touch volume controls with support for playing back audio wirelessly through Apple AirPlay and DLNA. If streaming isn’t on the agenda, though, there’s also a line-in port.

Pricing for the special edition BeoPlay comes in at $2690 and will be available at B&O stores this month.
