Bowers & Wilkins CM1 bookshelf monitor speakers now in Australia

Already a winner of the European EISA award for Best Speaker 2006-07, the Bowers & Wilkins CM1 bookshelf monitor speakers are now gracing Australian shores, courtesy of distributor Convoy International.

“Small speakers with a big sound” sporting a Kevlar driver cone for bass and midrange and a Nautilus tube-loaded aluminium dome tweeter, the unobtrusively small footprint of the CM1 means they can be stand mounted for a traditional look or secreted away on a shelf or in a cupboard to preserve the look of your lounge room.

The two-way ‘mini monitor’ speakers share the driver and crossover technology of its bigger brother, the 8055 from the 800 series, and use laser-based measuring techniques to optimise linear inductance on the driver units, allowing them to draw greater detail from the source signal, according to B&W.

Encased in a choice of three real wood veneers – wenge, rosenut or maple – with magnetically-attaching speaker grilles, the CM1 sell for $1,499 a pair, with matching stands priced at $599 a pair.
