Canon waterproof camcorder housing – good down to 40 metres

The WP-V1 waterproof camcorder housing enables use of Canon’s full High Definition HF20 and HF200 camcorders at depths of up to 40 metres underwater.

Canon’s WP-V1 waterproof camcorder housing will be available in Australia in May. For use with the LEGRIA HF20 and HF200 camcorders released earlier this year, the WP-V1 will allow users to capture high definition underwater movies to a depth of 40 metres.

The Underwater Mode on the HF20/HF200 videocameras allows users to record videos with a natural colour palate and to capture subjects as close as 30 cm to the lens window when shooting in full wide angle.

A first for Canon video, the WP-V1 makes underwater shooting simple and easy by featuring a large zoom lever for precise operation and oversized, colour-coded buttons to prevent operating errors.

The WP-V1 is designed for effortless movement underwater and as such is compact and light. The casing is constructed using polycarbonate, white plate glass and stainless steel. Double-paned glass lens window with multicoating on both sides prevents reflected light.
