Flip may have been the first brand to start the personal video camera revolution, but it definitely won’t be the last, with owning company Cisco pulling the plug on Flip this week.
The move comes as Cisco decides to “restructure” its consumer business, with Flip being one of many areas that will be changed in the coming months.
While saddening, the move isn’t all that surprising, given how many smartphones and tablets now feature at least 720p HD video capture built in.
One possible upside for the consumer is that with Flip video cameras about to be ditched, it’s very possible that you’ll be able to find one on sale in the coming weeks.
