In case you think we have had too much eggnog, our attempt at humour is to call attention to the Cygnett range of new Qi wireless chargers, and it’s massive 60W USB-C wall charger that will run most modern laptops.
I thought Belkin was good with its 45W USB-C charger which has become a staple on GadgetGuy’s testbed. Sorry, Belkin, we love the watts!
This charger delivers the full
gamut of USB-C power delivery 2.0 – 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/3A (60W)
so it will run things like MacBook, Lenovo Yoga,
Dell XPS, HP Spectre and anything needing amperage.
It is also a must when you are trying to quickly refill the very big 20,000mAh+ power banks unless you have a day or so to spare using a standard 5V/2A charger!
it will fast charge almost any device that supports PD 2.0 or USB BC 1.2 (up to
5V/3A). That means it will provide fast charging to iPhone X, XR, XS, XS Max, 8
and iPhone 8 Plus devices using a USB-C to Lightning Cable. And in the Android world – everything!
We test chargers with MacBook Pro 15, HP x360, and Lenovo Yoga
We rate it 5-out-of-5 for both
price ($89.95) and performance.
Cygnett 20W dual charger is an interesting product. (website here).
It has two 10W pads beside each
other, and it has become amazingly useful
in our household where we have multiple Qi charge devices. You can charge two Qi-enabled devices – phones, some cordless
kitchen appliances, Bluetooth speakers and buds, torches – even electric
toothbrushes. It is certified by the Wireless Power Consortium as well.
That means it is smart enough to
sense the voltage and amperage needed. When you place an iPhone on it charging is
at 7.5W. If you place most other recent
Android smartphones, it will charge at 10W.
It comes with a 12V/2.5A charger
and costs $129.95.
Cygnett Prime 10W Desk Charger in Navy, Black, White (website here)
Use it in landscape or portrait
mode and has 10W just as the Dual charger has.
The charging pad has a non-slip surface, so you can charge while playing
movies or music. We tested with a Samsung Galaxy Note9 and EFM case weighing in
at 245g – it is rock solid and charges
through thick cases. The charge pad angle
is also adjustable and can be a flat pad as
