Details of Samsung’s tablet trickle out

We’ve written at length on the competitors Apple will soon face with its iPad, and now we’ve learnt a little bit more about the device Samsung intends to bring out.

The news comes courtesy of a firmware release Samsung has put online detailing exactly what will be inside the tablet.
Like previous rumours, the new device looks to feature a 1GHz processor, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, Flash support, and Android, making it very similar to the Samsung Galaxy S released earlier this year.
Much like the Samsung Galaxy S and HTC Wildfire, it’s expected that Samsung’s tablet will feature the Swype keyboard technology.
Unlike that phone, however, the 5 megapixel camera in the Galaxy S looks like it might be getting switched for a 3 megapixel camera for the tablet. Reports are suggesting there will still be a front facing camera if video chat is something you’re going to be using.
Still no word on a release date, but with details like this coming out through a firmware release, it can’t be too much longer before Samsung officially announces its competition to the iPad.
