If you’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of Microsoft’s knight in shining smartphone armour and want to see it on a tablet, the news is looking doubtful.
While we can’t imagine Microsoft would let BlackBerry and Android take on Apple’s iPad alone, there are suggestions this week that Microsoft is sticking to a 4 inch limit on Windows Phone 7 devices.
This means that you won’t be seeing the new operating system on anything too high above 4 inches, with 5 to 7 inch tablets out of the question.
What we’re now expecting is Microsoft could release a tablet with a similar version of Windows 7 as seen on netbooks available today. Hopefully we’ll see something like this by December, otherwise it’ll probably be just Apple and Android competing in the tablet space.
