Lenovo’s range of Yoga 2-in-1 laptops have been on the scene for 10 years and were one of the forerunners of the ‘convertible’ laptop configuration. At CES, Lenovo has announced updates to the range including the flagship Yoga 9i, portable Yoga 7i and eco-friendly Yoga 6.
Yoga 9i
The range-topping Yoga 9i sports high-end hardware including a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1260P chip, Intel Iris Xe graphics and a lovely 4K OLED IPS display. The hardware spec has been co-engineered with Intel to meet the chipmaker’s ‘Intel Evo’ laptop specification. According to Lenovo, this means the Y9i hits “…key experience targets for responsiveness, instant wake, battery life, fast charge and intelligent collaboration to deliver a super-fast boot up from virtually anywhere you use your laptop.”
They Yoga i9 brings a plethora of productivity improvements such as easier one-hand opening, untraditional edge-to-edge keyboard, and 1-click function keys to name a few. For video conferencing, the Background Blur feature allow one-click blurring of your background. There’s also a 45 percent larger touchpad, 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports and expanded Wi-Fi 6E for fast wireless connectivity.
The Yoga 9i’s high-grade aluminium body is available in Storm Grey and Oatmeal hue with high-gloss sidewalls. A Precision Pen 2 is also included in the box and Windows 11 is installed.
Yoga 7i
The new Yoga 7i is available in two sizes – 14 and 16-inches – with the 14in version coming with a 2.8K OLED touchscreen display. The 16-inch model’s screen is a 2.5K LCD model, with a 60Hz refresh rate and 16:10 aspect ratio. Both versions can be spec’d with a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1260P processor and Intel Iris Xe graphics. For a more games and graphics focused device, the 16in Yoga 7i can be configured with an 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H processor combined with the next-level performance from new elevated Intel Arc A Series graphics configuration (coming soon).
The 14-inch Yoga 7i is available in Storm Grey and new tranquil Stone Blue hue. The 16-inch Yoga 7i is available in Storm Grey and new Arctic Grey hue.
Yoga 6
Lenovo’s Yoga 6 is made with sustainability in mind, which is a growing trend in today’s laptops. The 2-in-1’s case, in Dark Teal, is made with recycled aluminium. There’s also a fabric-wrapped cover option that uses 50 percent recycled plastics and treated with a stain-resistant finish for resilience. In addition, 30 percent of the power adaptor was made from recycled plastics and 25 percent of the battery cells are made from post-consumption plastic. Packaging is also greener than ever, according to Lenovo, using managed and certified FSC forests. The Yoga 6 is ENERGY STAR certified and EPEAT Silver certified for meeting energy saving and environmental standards.
Hardware wise, the Yoga 6 can be configured with an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor and integrated AMD Radeon graphics. There’s a 13-inch Full HD 16:10 display, and supports Dolby Vision. There are also 2 front-facing Dolby Atomos-compatible speakers.
We’re still waiting on Australian availability and pricing, and will update once this information comes available.
