Google gives the cool gift of digital snow

Most Australians won’t really have the fairy-tale “White Christmas”, but search giant Google has at least come up with a way that anyone can experience it when they’re looking for things on the Internet.

Launched this week, Google has added a cute little bonus to its search engine when you search for “let it snow”, with the webpage dropping snowflakes and frosting up your search window.

From there, you can use your mouse cursor to draw in the cold – like running your finger on frosted glass and drawing shapes – or just click the “defrost” button and let Google clear it up for you.

It’s a cute little introduction to the holiday season, even if for Aussies, that generally means lots of sun and a day at the beach.
