Convoy International, along with Harman Kardon, is proud to announce that the new DMC 1000 Digital Media Centre has just been awarded by EISA the Best Music Server 2008-2009. The DMC 1000 is a hard drive-based media server that offers a host of advanced media storage and playback capabilities, including independent, simultaneous playback of up to four audio streams in four separate zones, and an HDMI output with video upscaling to 1080p.

The official quote by EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association) sums by why this extensive bundle of features, along with cutting-edge design and ease of use took out this award:

“Converging different digital media into a single device for the living room has often meant sacrificing usability for simplicity, a conundrum solved by the sleek black Harman Kardon DMC 1000. This self-effacing box offers CD ripping and playback, a 250GB hard disk, plus support for up to 1TB of external storage for archiving your music via USB. There’s optional iPod connectivity, audio streaming capability for up to four zones and a 1080p upscaling DVD player with HDMI output. This wealth of features is easily controlled through an elegant GUI, the icing on the cake of a sophisticated by highly accessible first step into the world of home entertainment.”

The Harman Kardon DMC 1000 Digital Media Centre has also received the prestigious 2007 GOOD DESIGN Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. In addition, the DMC 1000 was reviewed and praised by many special interest magazines, including Hi-Fi News in the UK, while the U.S. magazine Electronic House recognised it as “2007 Product of the Year”.
