Hisense is showing off its new range of washing machines, refrigerators, TVs, laser TV and sound bars at CES 2019.
Hisense is a rapidly growing brand of consumer electronics and appliances. Since arriving in Australia, it has risen out of the mire of no-name brands and offers good quality – it’s no longer a question of which brand is best – there are a few choices! In fact, more often it is a question of which series/models are best.
Andre Iannuzzi, Head of Marketing at Hisense Australia, said,
We’ve seen strong consumer demand for our vast array of home appliance products over the past 12 months, and we’re excited to head into 2019 with an even bigger, more impressive range. These new products strengthen our presence in the refrigeration and washing machine categories, where we see significant growth opportunities for our business.
8 and 10kg washers
Aussies tend to have larger washing loads. These have traditionally been the domain of top loaders but as space becomes a premium front loaders are in!
While 6kg was standard now 8kg is entry level, and 10kg for large towel and sheet washes is more in demand.
The HWFM8012 (8kg) has a four-star water/energy rating, 14-programs and a new ‘Snowflake Drum’. It has a 2kg, 15-minute quick wash cycle. Price: $749 but as with all appliances shop around.
The 10kg HWFL1014V adds an extra program, is 4/4.5-star energy/water rating and an inverter motor for vibration free use. Price is $1099.
453L bottom mount refrigerator
Inverter technology gives better cooling and temperature maintenance for a 4.5 Star Energy Rating. Features include a concealed touch control panel, electronic temperature control, Holiday Power save function, reversible doors, easy-slide drawers, adjustable spill-proof glass shelves, a large fruit and vegetable crisper and a twist icemaker. Price is $1399.00.
Hisense has a full range of refrigerators starting at a 120l bar fridge to a 701l French Door with the works. It has several chest and one-door freezers.
Hisense smart TVs get smarter
Hisense has a new version of its Smart TV TV OS – VIDAA U3.0 AI, supported by the RemoteNOW smartphone App and full integration of Amazon Alexa (no Echo speaker needed) and compatibility with Google Home Assistant (requires a Google speaker).
But not to be left out it will also introduce Android TV on select models. A move that will enable competition with a broader range of TV brands and appease Android aficionados.
Andre Iannuzzi, Head of Marketing at Hisense Australia, said,
Australia is a nation of early-adopters – we’re tech-savvy and are always looking for ways to improve connectivity in the home, especially in the living room. Innovation, performance and user experience continue to be key priorities for us feature the latest advancements in AI and voice assistant technology.
Hisense 2019 TV range
Ianuzzi says premium quality picture and sound continue to be a focus for Hisense across its entire ULED TV range.
There is a new generation of series 7, 8 and 9 and the Android TV based series G.
Top of the range series 9 (GadgetGuy reviewed the 2018 model here giving it a 10-out-of-10 for its Quantum Dot panel) has a new Hi-View Engine Pro processor that enables the best overall picture quality by enhancing all content, from Standard Definition all the way up to 4K HDR. It delivers the best Hisense picture – motion enhancements, noise reduction, 4K upscaling and accurate colour representation.
Most of the new 2019 4K ULED range will have Bluetooth, Dolby Vision/HDR and Dolby Atmos sound processing.
100”, 4K, X-Fusion Laser Light Engine projector TV with HDR10
Iannuzzi says,
More and more Australians are demanding larger-than-life televisions. This unapologetically big and bold laser projector TV is part of our commitment to more choice at the premium end of the market. Globally, Hisense has invested heavily in the research and development of its proprietary laser technology that provides an unparalleled at-home cinema experience.
To be clear, it is a laser-powered, ultra-short-throw (19cm for 100” image) video projector with all TV functions. The console also has console JBL Cinema sound – 14 built-in speakers and a wireless sub-woofer with DBTX-TV technology.
And soundbars round out the offering
A soundbar and sub-woofer add nuances and volume that beats built-in sound – no matter how good the TV is.
Now that Hisense has Dolby Atmos across its range the 5.1.2, 11 speaker and sub-woofer soundbar will make the most of spatial sound it can produce. It supports DTS:X upscaling, 4K and HDR pass-through, HDMI ARC, Bluetooth, AUX, USB, Optical and Coaxial connections.
At the lower cost end is a 2.1 Soundbar with Dolby Digital and DTS technology. The wireless 6.5-inch subwoofer should kick in at 40 Hz to the top end of 20kHz. It has HDMI, Bluetooth, AUX, USB, Optical and Coaxial.
