Hot Wheels finally makes your dreams come true

Every boy who has ever played with a toy car has dreamed about being in the driver’s seat. Now it seems that you’ll get that chance.

While there’s no shrink way to cut you down to size and let you “get in”, Mattel – the makers of both Hot Wheels and Barbie – have come up with a way just as cool: video.

A new series of matchbox-sized Hot Wheels cars will feature a front-facing video camera built into the hood of the car, capable of recording up to 12 minutes of video, able to be viewed once connected back to a computer or on a tiny LCD screen at the bottom of the car.

Mattel is suggesting that the “Video Racer” Hot Wheels cars should be arriving by Christmas, so you’ll probably be waiting for a few months at the earliest.
