Coinciding with Cyber Security Awareness week, Australia’s second largest ISP has put online its first instalment of online safety tips.
The first part of this new initiative is all about something most of us use – Facebook and other social networking websites.
“We’re passionate about the Internet as an educational and social development tool, but we’re realistic about the security risks too,” Rebecca Moonen, iiNet’s Compliance Manager. “Cyber safety can be as simple as a good anti-virus program and sensible privacy settings, and we’re keen to make this knowledge accessible to the wider community.”
From dealing with privacy settings to blocking unwanted users and even deleting things you didn’t actually mean to say, the tutorial aims to help you with simple tips that might not be immediately obvious.
