Bing Lee Rhodes opens exclusive JBL Live Lounge

The recently renovated Bing Lee at Rhodes has a fully kitted JBL Live Lounge with all the latest tech gear to create the ultimate audio experience.

JBL Country Manager, Marcus Fry said

“At Bing Lee Rhodes, you can see almost the entire JBL range in one place and try before you buy. We are confident that our legendary JBL sound signature (warm and sweet for movies and music) as well as the room-shaking bass sub-woofers, party speakers, portable speakers and soundbars will sound best at Bing Lee.”

CEO of Bing Lee, Lionel Lee (yes a real Lee) said

“We are pleased to open the JBL Live Experience – it’s a new retailing concept that shows off a brand, rather than a product. It is JBL’s store within a store – a destination.

JBL Live Lounge at Bing Lee

JBL Live Lounge creates a brand experience where the consumer can walk through a guided display of the entire product range without having to move from section to section as you would in a traditional retailer. Instead of separating smart speakers, headphones and soundbars from portable speakers, JBL lines its products side by side along with product demos and listening stations.

JBL Link Portable and JBL Link Music – OK Google and Airplay 2

JBL has launched two new voice-activated Link speakers for Xmas – the Link Portable and the music streaming oriented Link Music.

While they are two different speakers, they share JBL’s legendary sound signature and 360° JBL Sound.

JBL Link Music (website here) $169.95

JBL Link Music is a single 20W down-firing, 360° speaker with a frequency response of 60-20kHz so it covers mid-bass to high treble with its warm and sweet music signature. The compact (134 x 112mm, x 730g) speaker requires 240V power, is Wi-Fi 5 dual-band, BT 4.2 and supports most streaming formats.

JBL Link Portable (website TBA, Price TBA)

It offers the same JBL Sound signature and 360° in a portable speaker with a charging stand. All we know is that it is IPX7 waterproof, has eight hours battery life, a charging cradle and AirPlay 2.

Both join the JBL Link range.

Marcus Fry, Brand Activation Director of AUNZ at HARMAN, says:

“Our customers have told us how important easy music streaming is to them. JBL Link Music has Google Assistant, Wi-Fi streaming and Link Music (AirPlay 2) and Chromecast onboard – music or podcasts are only a command away.”

JBL Pulse 4 – pulses to the music

It is a portable speaker with LED light show and JBL’s signature sound

This is a little different from earlier Pulse models – It has a full-height, 360° wraparound high-res, LED light show. Add to that a 20W/2.25” transducer, IPX7 rating, 12 hours battery life, BT and Party Boost stereo and group pairing and its perfect for parties and the pool.

Frequency response is 70Hz-20kHz, and maximum volume is a loud 80dB. There is an app to control the light show effects or link it to the music.

Price $299.95

Marcus Fry, Brand Activation Director of AUNZ at HARMAN, says:

“JBL Pulse speakers are much-loved.  The JBL Pulse 4 is unique, using cutting-edge technology that provides the perfect form for our customers to express themselves and their individuality. We’ve introduced a full speaker light show to really elevate the sound and make it shine.”
