JBL have recently announced the introduction of the new SCS200.5BK, the complete 6-piece home cinema speaker package. With four identical satellites, a matching horizontal centre speaker and a floor-shaking 100W subwoofer, the SCS200.5BK has everything you need to experience movie theatre quality digital video and audio in the comfort of your own living room. All you need to complete a genuine cinematic experience is your source, multi-channel AV receiver and TV. JBL have designed this system for easy set up, and even easier use.

The SCS200.5BK’s compact 2-way satellites and a voice-matched, dual-driver centre speaker brings movie dialogue and action – as well as the subtleties of musical performances – stunningly to life. Of course, all satellite and centre speakers are fully video-shielded.

A clever mounting system for centre and satellites means no visible cables, no speaker terminals, nothing but the elegant design of the speaker itself. With a superior cable management system, these are full-service satellites, designed to please your eyes are well as your ears. The satellites and centre are ready for shelf mounting, or for easy wall mounting simply attach the included omni-directional wall-mount brackets. Now optimum surround imaging is entirely within your control.

An extremely thin, yet extremely rigid, layer of titanium, reinforced with a foil laminate, ensures accurate, undistorted high-frequency response, even at realistic listening levels – and by realistic, we mean loud! Developed for Professional LSR Studio Monitors, JBL’s proprietary EOS waveguide even disperses high frequencies for more precise stereo imaging over a wider listening area. JBL reinforces its cellulose fibre cones with a polymer coating for uniform pistonic motion, eliminating internal resonances without increasing cone mass to ensure precise and clear midrange response.

The centre channel speaker uses components that are identical to those used in the satellites for seamless pans, with two midranges for extra power and clarity in the dialogue channel, and is configured for horizontal placement above or below your TV. The computer-optimised geometry of JBL’s FreeFlow bass-reflex port extends the 8″ (200mm) subwoofer’s bass response while eliminating unwanted turbulence. Which means you have nothing to fear but the bass itself.
