The digital radio revolution is happening, and JVC is bringing out some new gear for your car to help make it happen, including its first CD receiver with DAB+ support.
It’s called the KD-DB56 (above) and while the name isn’t something that rolls off of the tongue, JVC is at least decking it out with features. We’re talking Bluetooth ready (albeit with a USB Bluetooth adapter), a charge and control plug for iPhones and iPods, USB ports, auxiliary port, digital radio support over DAB+, and of course a CD player.
JVC is also launching a whole bunch of components for your car, including new two- and four-channel amps, speakers, and even a subwoofer featuring a 1.774 kilogram strontium magnet.
JVC’s CS-V627, a 230 watt 6.5 inch speaker available now for $75.
We’ll let the press release speak for itself over on the next page, in case you’re in the mood to do a little modding to your car stereo system.
Just had my JVC KD-DB56 installed yesterday with the bluetooth phone adaptor. Note to all, the bluetooth and iPod controls are separate components you have to buy and fit at installation. Also, the BT streams audio very well indeed, even has play and pause that control my iPhone’s music etc, BUT and a big BUT. The Bluetooth phone system sounds absolutely terrible! I sound crackly to the person on the end of the phone and they sound crackly to me. It was so bad one of my clients hung up on me and I had to call back with the BT switched off. I hope to get this resolved today.
