In my attempts to declutter my desk, the Kensington SmartFit Laptop riser with Qi Wireless Charging Pad has achieved three things
- Raised my laptop screen to eye height – no more sore shoulders after a long day at the grindstone
- Tidied up my desk by fitting my Kensington Thunderbolt 3 dock  to its zero-footprint mount
- And provides a 5V/2A (10W) Qi charge pad as well – that gets something else off the desk.

Warning: Some assembly required, and geeks should know the pointy end of a Philips head screwdriver (IKEA diploma not needed). To be honest its four screws!
What is it?
A laptop riser for up to 15.6-inch laptops and 3.5kg weight. The base is approx. 25 x 25cm.
It is height adjustable from 10 cm to 20cm so you can raise the laptop screen to the best height for your eyes. A Kensington Lock slot provides optional security.
It has an integrated Qi Charge Pad certified for Apple iPhone 8 or later and any Qi-enabled device. The Qi pad is all about convenience in the office – put your phone there, and it will always be topped up and ready to go. Qi is also kinder to batteries, and it has an indicator LED to show the phone is in the right place. You must plug in the 5V/2A charger pack to a powerpoint.
It also fits and Kensington dock that supports zero-footprint mounts.
What it is not
It is not a raised typing platform! While it is quite stable for the laptop, the added weight of your palms would exceed safe limits.

As I said earlier, it immediately solved three problems, and that is a good day. It is well made, and reasonable price – Qi pads alone can cost as much.
It is perfect for any desk or hotdesk – especially if space is at a premium.
