LEGO to Father’s Day in Sydney. Yoda not want to miss it.

LEGO

This Father’s Day weekend (Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 September), LEGO Australia are launching an exclusive All-Stars Studio experience. Dads and their kids can direct their very own stop-motion LEGO Star Wars film.

Dads and their kids can direct, shoot, edit and voice their personalised Star Wars film using LEGO Star Wars Mini-figures, bricks and elements.

Mini-film makers can build bespoke sets from LEGO bricks before shooting their iconic Star Wars scenes. From Luke and Darth Vadar’s first lightsabre duel to finding your way back to the Millennium Falcon with Chewy.

NSW-based studio Toonworld that specialise in stop motion classes for kids will run the hour-long class. Families will get the chance to show off their final creations with a premiere of all mini-movies at the end of each session.

Yoda not want to miss out on this opportunity!

GadgetGuy’s take. Lego, know this, I am your father.

For reasons, I can’t quite fathom playing with these brightly coloured plastic bricks appeals to all ages. My kids, (now 35/33) started with a hill of DUPLO and graduated to mountains of LEGO. But secretly it was always me making the awe-inspiring Eifel Tower or some wonderful escapist game we could all play.

That plastic brick has come a long way with a theme for all ages. For me, the speed champions Mercedes AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team to the Ferrari FXX K & Development Centre and everything in between.

For the curious, it’s Mindstorms Robots which are a lot of fun as well as teaching rudimentary programming.

Happy Fathers Day. LEGO – it is something you never grow too old for.
