Lenovo at Computex 2019. World’s first 5G PC – Project Limitless

Lenovo at Computex 2019

Lenovo at Computex 2019 was all about the future of Windows laptops on ARM.

Lenovo at Computex 2019 announced Project Limitless – a years-long collaboration between Lenovo and Qualcomm to develop a new class of 5G connected PCs that are always-on, always-connected and engineered for smarter, modern computing experiences. The partnership and new Snapdragon 8cx 5G compute platform will open the door to transformative user experiences for both consumers and enterprise.

Demoed at COMPUTEX, this ultra-portable Lenovo laptop is the first-ever with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G modem, able to connect to a super-fast 5G network. The transition from 3G to 4G LTE has already transformed how people use their smartphones; likewise, Lenovo sees the huge growth potential of 5G by enabling smarter, modern computing through the promise of faster, always-connected PCs, and more immersive connectivity and sharing.

Johnson Jia, senior vice president and general manager, Consumer Business of Intelligent Devices Group, Lenovo, said

“At Lenovo, we don’t innovate for the sake of technology alone. Everything we do is about improving people’s experience. With real 5G in a PC, it’s all about satisfying users’ need for speed: faster file transfers and streaming in 4K, 8K and even AR/VR; faster and higher quality video chats on-the-go; even faster screen refreshes for mobile gaming. When we say limitless connectivity, we mean it – 5G PC users the world-over will save time, stay productive, or get online entertainment from nearly anywhere, at any time.”

Project Limitless will come in early 2020
