LG GD900 Crystal touchscreen phone – with see-through keypad

New from LG is the GD900 Crystal touchscreen mobile phone, notable for its see-through, slide-out keypad, the Crystal Touchpad. When slid out, the Crystal Touchpad emits a soft blue glow – LG claim that the keypad should be strong enough for general use, made as it is out of tempered glass and framed and reinforced by a band of a composite alloy called Liquidmetal.

The touchscreen interface of the GD900 supports gesture shortcuts, allowing easy jumps to the various functions of the phone. As an example, if you trace the letter ‘M’, you’re taken directly to the phone’s music player.

Other main features include an 8 megapixel camera, 3 inch WVGA LCD touchscreen, MP3 player and DVD resolution video recording. There is 1.5GB of internal memory, and the phone can accommodate up to 32GB of additional storage using the memory card slot.

Price and availability

The LG GD900 Crystal touchscreen phone is available now, through Yes Optus, Telechoice, Network Communications and Optus premium dealers, and has an RRP of $899.
