LG gets wise with water for new dishwashers

Water wastage and being green is something most appliance makers are going to be looking more at, as it becomes more important than ever to do everything to keep the earth in a healthy condition. With that, LG is taking the covers off its most environmentally friendly dishwashers yet.

Eight models are coming, several of which sport an uber environmentally friendly rating of four stars in energy efficiency, with two pushing hard for a 5.5 start water rating, one of the highest scores out there.

The features in these dishwashers aren’t totally about saving the world, and include the injection of steam to loosen dirt and grime from plates and the like through the “TrueSteam” mode, an extra rack for putting smaller items in the dishwasher that would normally be hand washed, and a “Smart Diagnosis” system that can – with the assistance of an app – help inform LG service people what’s wrong with your appliance if it ever gets to that point.

LG’s two flagship models start at $1699 RRP (LD148T4 for $1699, LD1485T4 for $1792), but there are other models as you go throughout the range which may not have the diagnosis or TrueSteam features, and like these, will be heading to stores later this month.
