LG to launch 55 inch OLED TV at CES 2012

In a few days, the Consumer Electronics Show will kick off in Las Vegas, and LG plans to make its presence known in a big way by unveiling the world’s largest OLED television.

The new TV is ridiculously thin, sitting at a tiny 4mm, and its weight sits at 7.5 kilograms, making it one of the most minimalist TVs to date.

LG says that the OLED (organic light emitting diode) display is roughly 1,000 times faster than LED backlit LCD and LCD displays, so motion is rendered without the blurring inherent to these types of televisions.

We’ll know more about this when LG officially shows its behemoth off to the world in Vegas, but for now, gaze upon the nice pictures below.
