Logitech MX Anywhere 3

Logitech MX Anywhere 3 – master series mice (review)

The Logitech MX Anywhere 3 is part of its master series of mice and keyboards. Whatever that mythical ‘master series’ imparts – it works for us.

Now an admission – I am a leftie, southpaw, mollydooker, so I look for symmetrical mice for either hand use. The rest of the world can use those weird, shaped ergo mice like its MX Master 3 (that my wife loves). Or vertical mice that appeal to carpal tunnel sufferers. And it is Logitech G gaming mice that look like Darth Vader’s lovechild.

No, the MX Anywhere 3 is a normal, equal opportunity mouse that works, well, anywhere. You buy it because you know Logitech has mastered the tech needed for a great mouse like the MagSpeed 1000 line-per-second scroll wheel, a laser that works on glass, long battery life and premium lasting materials. Oh, and it can connect via Bluetooth to three different devices or use the Logitech Unifying USB-A receiver.

So how do you test a Logitech MX Anyware 3 mouse?

First, work out what it is best at – consumer, SOHO, business, consumer, gaming, creatives, travellers and more. It is a smaller mouse at 100.5 x 65 x 34.4mm x 99g, so it is good for travellers, consumers, creatives and coders doing precise work.

Second, at this price, let’s say that you can get Logitech Wireless mice from $19.95, so this has to be pretty special. And it is with over-the-top battery life and resolution.

Third, look at where it exceeds the expectations of a typical mouse user. In this case, three Bluetooth connections, an amazing scroll wheel (200-4000DPI), darkfield laser sensor, 70-day battery life and USB-C quick charge.

Fourth, the app and button customisations. The latter works with Adobe, Chrome, Safari, Microsoft 365 and Teams. Horizontal scrolling is by pressing and holding one of the side buttons and moving the wheel up or down.

And if you use the Logitech Options app, you can seamlessly control multiple computers with your Flow-enabled MX Anywhere 3 by simply moving your cursor to the edge of the screen. Your MX Anywhere 3 flows with you, even between Windows and macOS operating systems. Effortlessly transfer text, images, and files between computers – just copy on one and paste to the other.

GadgetGuy’s take

Suffice to say that after one week of office use, I now realise more than ever why Logitech is a top-quality brand. As a current MX Anywhere 2 user, the subtle improvements make this an even better mouse.

My only caveat is that it is a smaller mouse that you may be used to. If you need a larger mouse, look at the Logi-G703 gaming mouse.
