Magazines arrive on more mobiles with Zinio on Android

The printed word is having a hard time these days as digital media takes over, and it looks like it’s about to get harder. Digital magazine provider Zinio has just released its solution to Android users, now offering a spread of reading material to both phone and tablet users.

Previous only available on select Android phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 and Motorola Atrix, Zinio has released its app on the Android Market and is available for any device running either Android 2.2 “Froyo”, Android 2.3 “Gingerbread”, and Android’s tablet OS “Honeycomb”.

Before this, Zinio was only widely available for users of the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

While the application is free, magazines do cost money, although the price of issues can be very different from what you might expect to pay in newsagents. Australian magazines can be seen across many categories, including arts, fashion, lifestyle, and technology.
