Believe it or not, the Xbox 360 console has been out for almost 7 years, and as we head towards this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, news is being passed around that a successor to the console is coming.

The new console is rumoured to have better graphics, native support for 3D TVs, and could be as much as six times more powerful than the current generation of Xbox technology.

But will it come this year?

Probably not, with Microsoft telling at least one video game website that “there will be no talk of new Xbox hardware at E3 or anytime soon.”

So that’s that one. Maybe next year, people. Here’s hoping whenever they announce it, the new console includes backwards compatibility with current Xbox 360 games.
