Microwave Drawer to debut in 2007, says Sharp

Sharp has invented a microwave oven that can be integrated into a drawer beneath a kitchen benchtop. Called the Microwave Drawer, it places the microwave at a convenient height for frequent use and it slides out, just like a drawer, at the touch of a button. As well, it is ideal for open plan kitchens or those with island-style preparation benches.

Sharp plans to release the Microwave Drawer in Australia in mid to late 2007, possibly in a 60cm wide configuration. While specifications have not been finalised, the Microwave Drawer will feature Sharpps sensor cook technology that eliminates much of the guesswork thatts sometimes associated with microwave cooking.
